Who We Are
Melin Energy is a specialized C&I solar and energy storage developer that turns unused roof area into reliable, financeable energy assets. Our team handles the technical work behind the scenes, from structural and shading review to interval-data analysis, program selection, interconnection, permitting, and construction oversight. The goal is to make the process simple for building owners while we deliver a project that reaches NTP efficiently and performs as expected.
Melin Provides:
- Reliable execution
- Technical clarity
- Financial transparency
- Long-term partnerships
Our Target Focus
Target Opportunity
Rooftop solar and battery storage for commercial and industrial buildings. We support distribution centers, manufacturing facilities, logistics, retail and wholesale sites, municipalities, and school portfolios across Connecticut, New England, and Nationally across the United States.
Target Size
Typical building footprints range from 30,000 to 100,000 square feet and are often much larger. We evaluate roof condition, shading, and interval usage to size PV accurately. When it is useful, we pair systems with BESS for peak reduction and improved resilience.
Resulting Assets
Investor-ready clean-energy assets with stable long-term value. We provide program selection, technical assumptions, and sensitivities so stakeholders can move confidently from feasibility to NTP.
What We Offer
Custom Solar Development Services
Site screening, structural and shading assessments, detailed interval and 8760 modeling, and interconnection planning. Systems are designed for yield, constructability, and the right incentive structure.
Deal Structuring
Straightforward commercial terms that reflect program rules and real site conditions. We evaluate buy-all and netting options, REC opportunities, and host-benefit structures. Terms are aligned with both owner needs and investor expectations.
Asset Management
Quality oversight through commissioning and verification that system performance tracks design assumptions. We prepare the documents required by investors and lenders and ensure a clean handoff to long-term O&M.
Finance & Property Investment
Institutional-grade financial modeling that includes 20-year revenue forecasts, degradation, bill savings and REC streams, along with applicable ITC and MACRS benefits. Models include sensitivities that support informed decision-making.
Technology Options
Solar and Battery
A combined system offering both energy generation and demand control. We model battery dispatch against your load profile and solar generation to maximize value and confirm inventive eligibility.
Solar Only
Onsite generation tailored to each property and customized to the value the building owner is looking for. Systems are designed to match real needs, whether the priority is lowering costs, earning new income, or simply putting the roof to work, all while keeping facility operations uninterrupted.
Battery Only
When PV is not suitable, BESS can still reduce peak demand and improve facility resilience. We size systems according to each buildings’ specific usage patterns.
Leadership Team
Glenn Cucinell Founder & CEO
Glenn is the founder and CEO of Melin Energy, with nearly 20 years of experience in solar energy development, construction, and finance. He has successfully launched three separate solar operations from the ground up, growing his first into a multimillion-dollar business before its acquisition. Glenn has designed, financed, and deployed hundreds of megawatts of solar across the U.S. Today he focuses on unlocking the middle-market rooftop sector through scalable, mission-driven development supported by deep technical experience and a consistent record of execution.
Bailey Harris Vice President of Business Operations
Bailey is a clean-energy strategist and process architect focused on origination systems, financial modeling, and project execution. He leads day-to-day coordination from the first site screen through NTP and ensures that opportunities progress through a structured, data-driven pipeline. Bailey brings a strong technical background rooted in GIS analysis and site visualization, which supports accurate site screening and project planning. His objective is practical and predictable project delivery for property owners and investors.
Chuck McMullan Capital Markets Advisor
Chuck is a senior capital markets strategist and independent advisor with decades of experience in investment banking and private capital. As Co-Head of Private Capital Markets at Evercore, he advised on nearly 200 transactions totaling more than one trillion dollars and helped build the firm’s financing advisory practice. Why Us?
Long-Term Revenue Generation
We simplify complex tariffs and incentive structures and translate them into clear project economics. This helps owners and investors understand long-term value from the start.
Creative Deal Structuring
We work with major New England programs including CT NRES, SCEF, CT-SAM, CT Energy Storage Solutions (CT-ESS), and MA SMART. Every structure is selected to support owner goals and withstand investor diligence.
End-to-End Expertise
We perform all system design and coordinate engineering, permitting, interconnection, EPC collaboration, and documentation so projects move smoothly from concept to commissioning.
Sample Projects
Industrial Distribution Center Rooftop
A large-format roof where operations could not be disrupted. Our work included structural and shading review, interval-data modeling, and evaluation of CT program pathways. The final system offers stable long-term savings under a clear contract structure.
Manufacturing Facility with PV and BESS
A combined solar and battery system designed to reduce demand charges, improve resilience, and create export value. We completed detailed dispatch modeling and aligned the design with CT Energy Storage Solutions. Commercial terms were structured to balance host and investor needs.
School District Portfolio
A multi-building rooftop portfolio evaluated through 8760 modeling, structural screening, and REC scenario analysis. We reviewed SCEF, NRES, and netting options and provided a procurement-ready recommendation.
